Vacation in Nova Scotia (John A. & family)

We were so excited to have John A., Michelle, Tory, Claire, Charlotte and Ryan with us for 2 weeks. We ended up going over to PEI earlier rather than later - due to septic tank problems developing the day they were to arrive. We felt so bad, knowing they would like showers etc. especially after being in the car for 27 hours. On Sunday, we went to see the tall ships that were in Halifax for the week. It was very hot and very crowded. I didn't take a picture of the tall ships - just of the grandkids. These dolphins were placed here and there - why?, I am not sure. Since we do not have dolphins in this region that I am aware of. Anyway, they were very colorful and very smooth.

We went to PEI by ferry on Sunday evening, then spent the day with my sister Rosalie and her husband Leo. We had a wonderful time, crabbing, kayaking, and motor boat riding. I think catching the crabs won out for the "funnest" time. Although the motor boat ride was lots of fun too. The kids kept saying "go faster". Tory and Michelle enjoyed the ride from the back seat while the 3 "younger ones" were as close to the front as they could wiggle

A couple of evenings Natalee, Ben and Izzie "skyped" with us. Grandpa John had fun holding Ryan and Charlotte on his knee so they could be in camera range. Ryan and Charlotte in particular had fun listening to Ben read and sing. Ryan asked a couple of times, if we could talk with "that little boy on the computer". Some day, those boy cousins are going to have to meet.

Several days in between the rain, the children spent time at the beach or the lake or the pool. Tory was a super help when we went to the lake on the Saturday by ourselves. The lake is near us and free - plus it has nice grassy hills to roll, run or do cartwheels down. Too bad Grandma forgot the camera (and her sunhat and sunglasses and bathing suit). Oh well, everyone has fun in the water while Grandma watched. So no pictures of them rolling down the hill. This was the day that they were leaving, so Mom and Dad were having a nap for the long drive home.

Sigh! Two weeks goes so fast! Love you all.

Okay, so I know it TOTALLY makes me old to say this, but I can't believe how much Ryan, Claire and Charlotte have grown since the last pictures we saw of them. Wow!

Sounds like you all had a fun time. Wish we could have been there too.

P.S. My big boy wants to come and be part of the boy cousins too!

Yay! Nice to see pictures, especially Tory. We don't get to see her very often!
